The Hero clinical team joins forces with Acadiana Animal Aid to support our veterans towards heart healing by weekly volunteering with this paw-mazing organization. Our veterans will be walking, playing, and cuddling with these rescue pups and cats on a weekly outing. Animal friendships have been shown to reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost moods. Those of us that have been through trauma and moral injury experiences, can find solace in the presence of these furry friends, sometimes more than our human relationships. And we feel honored that AAA has asked us to be a part of their animal healing as well.
